Skinny Duke's Glorious Emporium
1481 Water St. $10-$15 drinks. Happy hour: 5 PM - 6 PM daily.
Best known for happy-hour pizzas and $9.99 classic cocktails, served from 5 PM to 6 PM daily. The room has loud 1970s-style decor, and drinks come in vintage glassware. The pizza is heavy.
Micro Bar & Bites
1500 Water St. $8-$14 range. Happy hour: 3 PM - 6 PM (open Tuesday to Saturday).
A tiny cocktail bar that seats about 25 people, known for properly made drinks and duck fat fries with garlic aioli. Order the feature cocktail or a sleeve of local craft beer. Arrive when happy hour starts; seats go quickly. The patio sits close to the road, so sit inside.
Earls on Top
211 Bernard Ave. $7-$18 range. Happy hour: 3 PM - 6 PM and 9 PM - close.
The rooftop patio at Earls looks down Bernard and out to the lake. Happy hour includes cheap margaritas and discounted sushi tacos, and the 9 PM session is quiet on weeknights. The catch: the elevator is often out of service, which means three flights of stairs.
Two large lakefront restaurants, King Taps and the Yacht Club Cactus Club, have the best water views of any happy hour downtown.
King Taps
1352 Water St. $7-$18 range. Happy hour: 2 PM - 5 PM and 9 PM - close.
A two-floor restaurant on the lake, on the former site of Rose's, with $6-$8 beers and cheap pizza slices at happy hour. The beer list is long and the thin-crust pizza is good. The catch: summer weekends are very busy. Without a reservation at 4:30 PM in July, expect a wait of around forty minutes.
Cactus Club Cafe
1370 Water St. $7-$20 range. Happy hour: 2 PM - 5 PM and 9 PM - close.
The Yacht Club location has the best patio in Kelowna, directly on the lake, with cheap bellinis and truffle fries at happy hour. In summer, expect up to an hour's wait for a table.
The Brewery District is the North End cluster of craft breweries around Ellis, Richter and Vaughan, where happy hour means discounted pints with food. For beer-only stops, see the best breweries in Kelowna guide.
BNA Brewing Co. & Eatery
1250 Ellis St. $6-$15 range. Check their site or socials for current happy-hour times.
Known for bocce, bowling lanes and an arcade, and a common choice for hosting visitors. The beer is solid and the steamed pork buns are a standout; happy hour discounts pints and snacks. The catch: service is slow when it's busy, especially on Friday nights.
Red Bird Brewing
1080 Richter St. $7-$12 range. Check their site or socials for current happy-hour times.
Known for its large outdoor area and live music stage, rebuilt a few years ago. Happy hour takes a couple of dollars off pints and wood-fired pizzas. It's very dog-friendly. The gravel patio gets hot in August; sit inside by the open garage doors if you need shade.
Rustic Reel Brewing
760 Vaughan Ave. $6-$14 range. Check their site or socials for current happy-hour times.
Directly across the street from Red Bird, with a cabin-style interior. Happy hour brings discounted flights and shared plates; the pepperoni flatbread is a good order. It's usually quieter than BNA or Red Bird. The lot is small, so park on the street.
Happy hours in the Landmark area and Glenmore range from plant-based food off Harvey Avenue to a neighbourhood pub by the creek.
Frankie We Salute You!
1717 Harvey Ave. $9-$16 range. Check their site or socials for current happy-hour times.
A fully plant-based restaurant with heavily discounted afternoon drinks. The chickpea fries and mushroom burgers appeal to meat-eaters too. The location is off the highway near Landmark, and the patio faces a parking lot.
Central Kitchen + Bar
1155 Ellis St. $8-$15 range. Happy hour: 2 PM - 5 PM daily.
A reliable pub with large truffle fries, filling happy-hour burgers and rotating taps. The patio is heavily shaded, which helps in July but makes it cold by late September.
Gather
105-460 Doyle Ave. $12-$20 range. Check their site or socials for current happy-hour times.
Korean-Italian fusion and shared plates near the Innovation Centre downtown; the pork belly is the standout. It's closed on Mondays and dinner ends around 9 PM, so it isn't a late-night option.
Brandt's Creek Pub
100-435 Glenmore Rd. $6-$12 range. Check their site or socials for current happy-hour times.
Glenmore's neighbourhood pub, with a large shaded patio beside the creek, cheap happy-hour highballs and good potato skins. It's a practical choice for Glenmore residents who'd rather not drive downtown and pay for parking. The interior is dated; the patio is the better seat.
The best late-night and cheap-eats happy hours are at two downtown pubs, Kelly O'Bryan's and the Train Station Pub.
Kelly O'Bryan's
262 Bernard Ave. $6-$15 range. Check their site or socials for current happy-hour times.
An Irish pub known locally as Kelly O's, with a happy hour it calls "Appy Hour." The signature order is Pachos, waffle fries topped with cheese and green onions, alongside cheap pints of green beer. The patio is decent; the interior is dark during the day.
Train Station Pub
1177 Ellis St. $6-$12 range. Happy hour: 2 PM - 5 PM and 9 PM - close daily.
Set in a former train station at the end of Ellis downtown, with late-night deals on local beers and flatbreads. It's quieter than BNA across the street. Seating inside is tight.

Known locally as the "El," a Mission institution with boardwalk seating facing the lake. Happy hour discounts glasses of Okanagan wine and calamari, though prices still reflect the location. The catch: summer parking is scarce, and Cook Road is hard to turn around on in July. Walk or cycle.
Shore Line Brewing
3477 Lakeshore Rd. $7-$14 range. Check their site or socials for current happy-hour times.
Across from Gyro Beach, a convenient stop after the beach. The happy-hour pretzels and dips are filling enough for dinner. The interior is loud when busy, so take the patio when the weather allows. More breweries in this area are in the best breweries in Kelowna guide.
Barn Owl Brewing
102-4629 Lakeshore Rd. $6-$10 range. Happy hour: 3 PM - 5 PM (check their Instagram for current days).
A brewery in a heritage barn far down Lakeshore, with a neighbourhood feel. There's no kitchen, only a food truck outside or baked goods, so it suits a drink rather than a full meal.
Central Kelowna's main happy hour is Baxters, a no-frills neighbourhood pub on Spall Road.
Baxters Bar & Grill
1745 Spall Rd. $6-$14 range. Check their site or socials for current happy-hour times.

In July and August, yes. Walk-ins at places like King Taps or Cactus Club can wait an hour. Smaller spots like Micro Bar fill up fast, so book ahead or show up right when happy hour starts.
BNA Brewing and Train Station Pub both have good markdowns on pints. Down Lakeshore, Barn Owl Brewing runs an afternoon happy hour on its craft beer.
Some Kelowna places run weekend happy hours, especially on Friday afternoons, but they're less common than weekday ones. Check with the restaurant before you go.
