Find the best Tuesday food specials in Kelowna. Real deals on tacos, pub food and wine that locals actually go to, plus what to skip.
In this article:
The best Tuesday food specials in Kelowna are Taco Tuesday at Cantina del Centro, half-price wine bottles at Cactus Club Cafe and Save a Toonie Tuesday at Copper Brewing. This guide covers 13 spots for Tuesday tacos, pub grub and upscale deals, plus what to skip.
Tuesday is the unofficial locals' night out in Kelowna. Summer visitors have thinned out, the winter ski crowd is up the hill, and restaurants are competing for local business. A Saturday in July means hunting for lakeside parking and waiting two hours for a table; a Tuesday means decent deals, manageable patios and room to talk.
Specials change often. Most of the venues below post current deals on their own websites; check before you go.
| Spot | Area | Tuesday deal |
|---|---|---|
| Cantina del Centro | Downtown | Taco Tuesday |
| Copper Brewing | Landmark | Save a Toonie Tuesday ($2 off any hot dog); happy hour 3 to 6 PM |
| Freddy's Brewpub | Rutland | Taco night |
| Cactus Club Cafe | Downtown | Half-price bottles of wine |
| Bouchons Bistro | Cultural District | Fondue, October through April |
| Kelly O'Bryan's | Downtown | Karaoke from 8 PM; Power Hour 8 to 9 PM |
| Original Joe's | Pandosy Village | Half-price wings after 2 PM |
Kelowna's best Taco Tuesday is at Cantina del Centro downtown, and this section also covers three other casual, cheap Tuesday spots. For a proper sit-down dinner, see our best restaurants in Kelowna guide.
Cantina del Centro
271 Bernard Ave | $$
Cantina is the strongest Taco Tuesday in a competitive field, and a dedicated taco and margarita spot. Order the carnitas or fish tacos; the tortillas hold together and the margaritas are strong. The catch: by 6 PM it's very loud. Street parking on Bernard is close to impossible in July, so use the Library parkade and walk the two blocks.
Naked Cafe
571 Lawrence Ave | $
Naked Cafe is entirely plant-based, and its bowls and burgers are popular with meat eaters too. It has a relaxed, independent feel that's increasingly rare downtown. Current deals are posted on its website and Instagram. It closes at 7 PM on Tuesdays, so it's a lunch or after-work stop; arriving at 6:45 PM is too late.
Copper Brewing
1851 Kirschner Rd | $$
Copper, in the Landmark area away from downtown crowds, runs Save a Toonie Tuesday ($2 off any hot dog) plus a 3 to 6 PM happy hour with smash burger tacos among the shareables. By 4:30 PM it fills with workers from the Landmark office towers. Our Kelowna breweries guide covers the beer. The catch: the parking lot is small and awkward, with many oversized trucks.
The Canadian Brewhouse
3030 Pandosy St | $$
The Canadian Brewhouse is the Mission's cheap-and-easy option, and it suits big groups on a budget that can't agree on where to eat. The food is basic and affordable. It's loud and full of screens. The current Tuesday special is posted on its website. Service slows during big hockey games; order the next drink early.
Kelowna's best Tuesday pub grub is at four neighbourhood pubs: Tonics downtown, Creekside in the Mission, Brandt's Creek in Glenmore and Freddy's in Rutland.
Tonics Pub
1654 Ellis St | $$
Tonics is a long-running downtown pub and the standard pre-game stop for Kelowna Rockets games at nearby Prospera Place. It's also a common stop for heavy food after a day of snowboarding. The pub sets its own Tuesday special, which is reliably good value; ask for the current one. The interior is dark and dated.
Creekside Pub & Grill
3929 Lakeshore Rd | $$
Creekside is the Mission's local pub, best known for a patio built over Mission Creek that stays shady, quiet and cool in summer. Food is made in-house, and portions are large. The current Tuesday special is on its website. The catch: Lakeshore Road traffic at 5 PM is heavy, so it makes most sense for people already in the Mission.
Brandt's Creek Pub
435 Glenmore Rd | $$
Brandt's Creek is Glenmore's default local pub, with a huge wraparound patio and a neighbourhood crowd, many walking over from nearby subdivisions. The pub sets current Tuesday drink and food specials; ask when you arrive. By 5:30 PM it's busy with Glenmore regulars, so expect a wait for a table.
Freddy's Brewpub
124-948 McCurdy Rd | $$
Freddy's is Rutland's brewpub, a big, unpretentious room next to the bowling alley. Tuesday is taco night; the current deal is on its website. The beer is brewed on-site and is underrated next to the downtown breweries. Highway 97 noise makes the patio unpleasant, so sit inside.
Kelowna's upscale Tuesday deals are half-price wine bottles at Cactus Club and seasonal fondue at Bouchons Bistro, with a few downtown regulars rounding out the list.
Cactus Club Cafe
1370 Water St | $$$
Cactus Club runs half-price bottles of wine on Tuesday. The Yacht Club location's patio sits directly on the water, which makes it the best place in Kelowna for a cheap bottle and a view of the boats. Skip the Banks Road location; the lake view is the point. Expect a dressed-up crowd and an hour's wait in August. For early snacks, see our Kelowna happy hours guide.
Bouchons Bistro
1180 Sunset Dr | $$$
Bouchons is a French bistro in the Cultural District that serves fondue Tuesday through Saturday from October through the end of April. It's heavy, traditional French food and a full sit-down dinner rather than a cheap deal. Allow time; service is unhurried. Fondue is off the menu in summer.
Kelly O'Bryan's
262 Bernard Ave | $$
Kelly O'Bryan's runs Tuesday karaoke from 8 PM, with a Power Hour from 8 to 9 PM for cheap highballs. The signature dish is Pachos: waffle fries covered in cheese and green onions. The upstairs patio overlooks Bernard Avenue. Late in the evening the crowd gets rowdy.
Original Joe's
2728 Pandosy St | $$
Original Joe's in Pandosy Village runs half-price wings every Tuesday after 2 PM, and its location page lists a daily happy hour from 2 to 5 PM and 9 PM to close. It's a reasonable afternoon stop while shopping in Pandosy, with a decent patio. The parking lot behind the building is very tight, so park on a side street.
Central Kitchen + Bar
1155 Ellis St | $$
Central, near the library, has no Tuesday food deal but is a reliable Tuesday choice. The burgers are among the best in the city, and the sports lounge side draws a local crowd for games without the feel of a traditional pub. The catch: tables are close together and it's noisy, so it's a poor choice for a private business dinner. Parking on Ellis is difficult during the dinner rush.
Cantina del Centro on Bernard Avenue has the best overall tacos and atmosphere downtown. If you'd rather avoid downtown parking, go to Copper Brewing in the Landmark area for happy hour smash burger tacos and craft beer.
Yes. Naked Cafe on Lawrence Avenue is fully plant-based and popular with meat eaters too. Current Tuesday deals are posted on its website and Instagram, and it closes at 7 PM on Tuesdays.
Yes, Cactus Club offers half-price bottles of wine on Tuesdays. Go to the Yacht Club location on Water Street for the lake view rather than the Banks Road location along the highway.
None of the spots in this guide runs a dedicated Tuesday steak deal. Tonics Pub on Ellis Street downtown and Creekside Pub in the Mission are both good bets for a cheap pub meal. Specials change, so check current menus before you go.
In winter you can usually walk in anywhere. In July and August you'll need reservations for places on the lake like Cactus Club. Local pubs like Brandt's Creek or Creekside are first-come, first-served, so get there before 5:30 PM to avoid waiting.
