Helping families and professionals relocate to Kelowna
MovingToKelowna is a relocation guide to Kelowna, BC, written by residents who have made the move themselves. It covers renting, neighborhoods, schools, jobs and finding a family doctor for families and professionals planning a move. When the team moved to the Okanagan, the information was scattered across dozens of websites and outdated forum posts, and much of it was contradictory. The site was built to put it in one place, answered honestly and with local detail.
Every page is written by someone who has been through the process it describes: the rental market, choosing a neighborhood, enrolling kids in school, finding a family doctor, and learning which local spots are worth knowing about.

Honest, detailed information is more useful than a sales pitch. The site covers the downsides of living in Kelowna as well as the good parts: the sunshine and outdoor lifestyle, and also the difficulty of finding a family doctor and the August wildfire smoke.
Community matters too. Beyond the lake and the wineries, what most people end up valuing is the people: neighbours who wave from their driveways, shop owners who learn your name, and parents who organize carpools and school fundraisers.
"The most common thing we hear from people who've moved to Kelowna? 'I wish I'd done it sooner.' Our goal is to help you get here and get settled as smoothly as possible."
Our guides cover neighborhoods, schools, jobs, recreation and cost of living in Kelowna. Neighborhood guides include pricing, school catchments, and each area's trade-offs. School guides cover SD23 schools, enrollment and programs, with practical notes for parents. Employment guides cover the major sectors, salary expectations, and job searching in Kelowna. Recreation guides cover wineries, beaches, skiing, and hiking. Cost-of-living breakdowns give figures you can budget with.

Our team lives and works in Kelowna. We're residents, not a content mill: we walk the trails on Knox Mountain, drink coffee at Pulp Fiction, cheer for the Rockets at Prospera Place, and navigate the same rental market and school enrollment processes we write about. Our content is informed by personal experience, local knowledge, and ongoing conversations with Kelowna residents, real estate professionals, educators, and community leaders.
Our readers include young professionals looking at tech jobs in Kelowna's 'Silicon Vineyard,' families looking for good schools and safe neighborhoods, retirees drawn by the sunshine and wine country, and remote workers. The aim is to save anyone planning a move time and a few surprises.
