Personalized support for every step of your move to the Okanagan
Our Kelowna relocation services are flat-fee packages of hands-on help with housing, neighborhood tours, schools, utilities, healthcare setup and community connections. They're designed for families and professionals moving to Kelowna, and cover everything from the first research months before the move to the first weeks in town.
Clients come from Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto and elsewhere in Canada. The team lives in Kelowna and has helped hundreds of families and professionals move to the Okanagan. In a mid-sized city, much of what matters (which blocks, which landlords, which deadlines) isn't written down anywhere, and that is the gap the service fills.
A relocation service is a local team that handles the research and coordination of your move, which for our clients cuts the work from 40–60 hours to 5–10. Everything below can be done without one. The reasons clients use the service:
Our home and rental finding service searches the Kelowna market on your behalf, including listings that never make it online. For buyers and renters, we match properties to budget, preferred neighborhood, commute and lifestyle priorities. For out-of-province clients we arrange virtual tours, coordinate with property managers and landlords, and help prepare competitive applications.
Renters get access to our network of private landlords who don't list publicly, early notice of upcoming vacancies in managed buildings, and application coaching for Kelowna's competitive market. Buyers are connected with experienced local REALTORS® who work with relocators and know the micro-market differences between neighborhoods.
Where to find data: Current rental listings are available on Castanet Classifieds (castanet.net/classifieds), Facebook Marketplace, and property management company websites. For purchase prices, check the BC Assessment website (bcassessment.ca) for property values and the Association of Interior REALTORS® (interiorrealtors.ca) for MLS statistics.
Our neighborhood orientation tours are guided drives through Kelowna's neighborhoods, pointing out schools, parks, grocery stores, community centres, and the differences between areas that are hard to pick up from online research. Tours show traffic patterns, noise levels, walkability, and how busy each area is at different times of day.
Our standard tour covers Downtown, Glenmore, Lower Mission, Upper Mission, Rutland, Dilworth, Kettle Valley, and the Highway 97 corridor. Extended tours include West Kelowna, Peachland, and Lake Country. Each tour follows your priorities. If schools come first, the tour spends more time in family neighborhoods and drives past every school in your preferred catchments. If lifestyle comes first, it covers lake access points, walking trails and restaurant districts.
Our school research service explains how School District 23 (SD23) works: comparing elementary, middle and high schools, identifying French Immersion and Montessori options, and reading catchment boundaries. We also help with enrollment paperwork, registration timelines and cross-boundary transfer applications.
The service includes profiles of every SD23 school, including enrollment numbers, program offerings, Fraser Institute rankings (where available), parent reviews, and our own assessments based on school visits and conversations with administrators. It also covers the differences between neighbourhood schools and choice programs, the application process for French Immersion (which has waitlists at popular schools), and the timeline for mid-year transfers.
Where to find data: School catchment maps and enrollment information are available on the SD23 website (sd23.bc.ca). The Fraser Institute (fraserinstitute.org) publishes annual school rankings for BC. The BC Ministry of Education (gov.bc.ca/education) provides province-wide data on graduation rates, student satisfaction surveys, and program availability.
Our moving coordination service connects you with vetted local moving companies and handles utility setup (FortisBC for gas and electricity, your chosen internet provider, City of Kelowna for water and waste), temporary housing if needed, and a personalized moving timeline. Having done this for hundreds of families, we know the order of steps that avoids last-minute problems.
Coordination includes a pre-move checklist built around your timeline, introductions to our network of reliable local movers (we only recommend companies we've personally vetted), assistance with FortisBC account setup (start it well before your move-in date), internet installation scheduling, mail forwarding setup with Canada Post, and BC driver's licence and vehicle registration transfer guidance through ICBC.
Where to find data: Utility setup is through FortisBC (fortisbc.com) for gas and electricity, and the City of Kelowna (kelowna.ca) for water and waste collection. Driver's licence transfers are handled by ICBC (icbc.com). Mail forwarding is through Canada Post (canadapost.ca).
Our healthcare and services setup walks you through MSP (Medical Services Plan) registration. We help you register on the Health Connect Registry to find a family doctor, identify nearby walk-in clinics, and find dentists, optometrists, veterinarians and other service providers near you.
Finding a family doctor is one of the biggest challenges for newcomers to Kelowna, because the Okanagan, like much of BC, has a physician shortage. Wait times are typically 6–18 months for a family doctor. In the meantime, we identify walk-in clinics suited to ongoing care and options like Telus Health MyCare for virtual visits. We also maintain a list of dentists, physiotherapists, chiropractors, optometrists, and veterinarians who are currently accepting new patients.
Where to find data: MSP registration is through the BC Ministry of Health (gov.bc.ca/health). The Health Connect Registry (hcr.healthlinkbc.ca) is the provincial tool for finding a family doctor. Walk-in clinic wait times are available on Medimap (medimap.ca).
Our community connection service introduces you to local groups, recreational programs, sports leagues, parent networks, and professional organizations. Getting connected early shortens the time it takes to feel settled.
Introductions are matched to your interests and life stage: parent groups through the Kelowna Family Centre, sports leagues through the City of Kelowna Recreation programs, professional networking through the Kelowna Chamber of Commerce and Accelerate Okanagan, volunteer opportunities through the Central Okanagan Foundation, and social groups for newcomers. In our experience, people who join at least one community group in their first month settle in faster.
Our process has four stages: a free 30-minute consultation, a custom relocation plan, active support, and two weeks of settling-in help. The steps vary by client, but the usual sequence is:
We mostly help young families, remote workers, retirees, and healthcare, education and tech workers moving to Kelowna from across Canada and beyond. The most common profiles:
