Kelowna dentists taking new patients, sorted by neighbourhood, plus emergency dental options, BC fee guide prices and who qualifies for the CDCP.
In this article:
The best dentists in Kelowna are Care Dental, One Dental, Mission Creek Dental and Landmark Dental Centre, which all say they take new patients, accept the CDCP and see emergencies.
This guide lists ten Kelowna dental clinics by neighbourhood, with addresses and hours taken from each clinic's own website. It also covers how to find a dentist accepting new patients, where to go for emergency dental care, what a checkup costs under the BC fee guide and who qualifies for the Canadian Dental Care Plan.
Pick a clinic close to home or work. Kelowna traffic funnels through Harvey Avenue and the bridge, and a checkup across town can take half a day in summer. Our transportation guide explains the main bottlenecks, and if you also need a family doctor, see our Kelowna healthcare guide.
A clinic made this list only if we could confirm it's operating at a real Kelowna address on its own website. We didn't use star ratings or review counts. Instead, we checked three things a newcomer actually needs: whether the clinic says it's taking new patients, whether it accepts the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP), and whether it offers emergency appointments.

Hours and policies change, so call before you book. Every dentist in BC must be registered with the BC College of Oral Health Professionals, and you can check any dentist's licence on the college's public register.
Kelowna dental clinics cluster in a few areas: downtown, Pandosy Village, the Landmark District, KLO Road, Glenmore and Rutland. Here's the short version before the details.
Not sure which area you'll live in yet? Our Kelowna neighbourhoods guide compares them.
Downtown Kelowna's main option is One Dental, in the One Water development on Water Street.
One Dental
Location: 1210 Water St, Kelowna (downtown)
Hours: Mon and Thu 8am to 7pm, Tue and Wed 8am to 5pm, Fri 9am to 2pm, closed weekends
This general practice in the One Water building says it welcomes new patients, accepts the CDCP and will try to fit in urgent cases as soon as it can. Services include cleanings, children's dentistry, sedation, crowns, root canals, implants and Invisalign. The two 7pm closings help if you work a day job downtown. Street parking on Water Street fills up fast in summer, so plan on a parkade. Phone: 778-738-5111.
Pandosy Village, just south of downtown, has two clinics on this list: Care Dental and Mission Creek Dental.
Care Dental
Location: 2691 Pandosy St, Kelowna (Pandosy Village)
Hours: Sun to Fri 8am to 6:30pm, plus Saturday patient-services hours 8am to 4pm
Care Dental is the clinic to know if you need weekend or after-hours help. It's open Sundays and runs a 24/7 after-hours emergency line at 778-478-2273. It's accepting new patients, accepts the CDCP and offers IV sedation for people who get anxious in the chair. Pandosy Street gets busy on weekends, so leave a few extra minutes.
Mission Creek Dental
Location: 400-575 Osprey Ave, Kelowna (near Pandosy St)
Hours: Mon 10am to 6pm, Tue and Wed 8am to 4:30pm, Thu 8am to 5pm, one Friday a month or on request
Mission Creek Dental, a general and cosmetic practice, sits just off Pandosy Street, and it says it's always welcoming new patients and accepts the CDCP. Dr. Daniel Kim takes after-hours emergency calls for his own patients, which is a useful perk once you're registered. It bills insurance directly and takes part in the Okanagan College and UBC student dental plan networks. Phone: 250-869-4138.
The Lower Mission's closest pick is Sunnyside Dental Care on Lakeshore Road.
Sunnyside Dental Care
Location: 106-3957 Lakeshore Rd, Kelowna (Lower Mission)
Hours: Mon to Thu 9am to 5pm, Fri 9am to 4pm, closed weekends
Sunnyside Dental Care is a family practice on Lakeshore Road that says it welcomes new patients. If you live in the Mission, it saves you the drive up Pandosy or Gordon. Its website doesn't mention the CDCP or emergency bookings, so ask about both when you call 250-764-7794.
KLO Road's pick is Creekside Dental Clinic, near the Richter Street intersection.
Creekside Dental Clinic
Location: 5-757 KLO Rd, Kelowna (near Richter St)
Hours: Mon to Thu 7am to 8pm, Fri and Sat 8am to 8pm, closed Sunday
Creekside Dental Clinic has the longest weekday hours on this list, with early starts at 7am and evening appointments until 8pm, six days a week. That makes it a strong choice for shift workers and parents juggling school pickups. It's accepting new patients and has emergency and CDCP information pages on its site, so confirm the details when you call 250-862-9477.
Central Kelowna's pick is Kelowna Dental Centre on Gordon Drive, near Springfield Road.
Kelowna Dental Centre
Location: 100-2033 Gordon Dr, Kelowna (near Springfield Rd)
Hours: Call for hours; the clinic advertises Saturday appointments
Kelowna Dental Centre is a family practice that also handles bigger work like dental implants and full mouth reconstruction. It offers oral conscious sedation and sedation for children, plus in-house financing. New patients start with an online intake form, and the clinic follows up to book. It has a CDCP page on its site, so ask if your treatment is covered. Phone: 250-860-1414.
The Landmark District has two clinics close to the office towers off Highway 97: Landmark Dental Centre and Okanagan Dentistry.
Landmark Dental Centre
Location: Suite 150, 1631 Dickson Ave, Kelowna (Landmark District)
Hours: Mon to Thu 8am to 5pm, Fri 8am to 3:45pm, closed weekends
Landmark Dental Centre sits inside the Landmark buildings, so it's easy to book a cleaning around a workday. The clinic says it accepts new patients and the CDCP, and that it'll try to see emergency patients as soon as it can. Services run from hygiene and fillings to oral surgery, gum therapy, orthodontics and Invisalign. Phone: 250-762-3342.
Okanagan Dentistry
Location: 302-1500 Hardy St, Kelowna (near Enterprise Way)
Hours: Mon and Wed to Fri 8am to 5pm, Tue 8am to 7:30pm
Okanagan Dentistry is a family practice right off the highway that welcomes patients of all ages and has a ceiling track lift for wheelchair users. The clinic says it's on call for dental emergencies for both new and existing patients. It also offers dentures, implants, oral sedation and Invisalign, and it has a CDCP page on its site. Phone: 250-762-3563.
Glenmore's pick is Glenmore Dental, in a small plaza on Summit Drive.
Glenmore Dental
Location: Unit 103, 1932 Summit Dr, Kelowna (Glenmore)
Hours: Mon 9am to 5pm, Tue and Wed 9am to 6:30pm, Thu 8am to 4pm, alternate Fridays 9am to 3pm
Glenmore Dental is a family clinic that says it's accepting new patients and families. It offers children's dentistry, nitrous oxide and IV sedation, oral surgery and direct billing to insurance, and you can book online. Its site doesn't mention the CDCP or emergency care, so ask when you call 250-808-8400. School drop-off and pickup traffic on Summit Drive is heavy, so mid-morning slots are easier.
Rutland's pick is Rutland Dental Centre, in the Sole Rutland building at Rutland Road and Bach Road.
Rutland Dental Centre
Location: 1-615 Rutland Rd N, Kelowna (Rutland)
Hours: Call for hours
Rutland Dental Centre is a family-owned practice in a newer building in the heart of Rutland. It's accepting new patients, and you can fill in the intake forms on its website before your first visit. Its site doesn't list hours, emergency care or CDCP details, so call 250-765-7662 to check.
Finding a dentist accepting new patients in Kelowna means checking a few directories and then calling clinics directly. Many Kelowna clinics list themselves as open to new patients, but the wait for a first exam varies from clinic to clinic.
Getting a dentist is one of many setup tasks after a move. Our moving checklist covers the rest.
Emergency dental care in Kelowna means same-day treatment for severe pain, a broken or knocked-out tooth, swelling or bleeding. Your first call should be a dental clinic, because hospital emergency departments generally can't repair teeth.
If you've knocked out an adult tooth, call a clinic right away. The sooner a dentist sees it, the better the chance of saving it.
Dental costs in Kelowna are set by each clinic, but most offices use the BC Dental Association's suggested fee guide as a starting point. The BCDA's 2026 guide for general dentists took effect February 1, 2026, and many insurance plans base their coverage on it. Dentists don't have to follow it, so ask for a written estimate before bigger work.
Here are some suggested fees from the 2026 guide:
A typical adult checkup with a recall exam, polish, two units of scaling and four bitewing X-rays adds up to about $263 at guide rates. Skip the X-rays and it's closer to $212. Clinics that charge above the guide will cost more, and your plan may only cover the guide amount. For how dental bills fit into a household budget here, see our cost of living guide.
The Canadian Dental Care Plan is the federal program that pays for dental care for residents who don't have private dental insurance. You must meet all four requirements on canada.ca:
What you pay depends on income. Families under $70,000 pay no co-payment at CDCP fees. Between $70,000 and $79,999 you pay 40%, and between $80,000 and $89,999 you pay 60%. A clinic can still charge you the difference if its fee is higher than what the CDCP pays, so ask first. You can apply through My Service Canada Account or by calling 1-833-537-4342, and there's no fee.
Low-cost dental care in Kelowna is available through the dental clinic at Kelowna's Gospel Mission, 251 Leon Ave. It serves people and families on a low income or income assistance and handles cleanings, check-ups, X-rays, fillings and extractions. It doesn't do crowns, bridges or dentures. Call 250-763-3737 to ask about intake.
Your first dental appointment in Kelowna goes faster if you bring the paperwork the clinic needs to set up your file and bill your plan.
Moving with kids? Most clinics on this list see children, and our daycare guide helps with the rest of the family setup.
One Dental, Care Dental, Mission Creek Dental, Creekside Dental Clinic, Landmark Dental Centre, Glenmore Dental, Sunnyside Dental Care and Rutland Dental Centre all say on their websites that they welcome new patients. Availability changes week to week, so call before you count on a date. The BC Dental Association's Find a Dentist tool can turn up more options.
Yes. Care Dental on Pandosy Street is open Sundays and runs a 24/7 after-hours emergency line at 778-478-2273. Creekside Dental Clinic on KLO Road is open Saturdays until 8pm. For spreading facial swelling or trouble breathing, go to the Kelowna General Hospital emergency department.
A typical adult checkup with an exam, polish, two units of scaling and four bitewing X-rays costs about $263 at the BC Dental Association's 2026 suggested fees. Without X-rays it's about $212. Clinics set their own prices, so some charge more than the guide.
Many do. One Dental, Care Dental, Mission Creek Dental and Landmark Dental Centre all say they accept the CDCP. Any dentist who agrees to bill Sun Life directly can treat CDCP patients, so ask the front desk before you book.
You qualify if you have no access to private dental insurance, filed a Canadian tax return for the previous year, have an adjusted family net income under $90,000 and are a Canadian resident for tax purposes. Families under $70,000 pay no co-payment at CDCP fees. You must confirm your eligibility every year.
